  • (1873–1964), Swedish biochemist; born in Germany; full name Hans Karl August Simon von Euler-Chelpin. He worked mainly on enzymes and vitamins and explained the role of enzymes in the alcoholic fermentation of sugar. He shared the 1929 Nobel Prize for Chemistry with Arthur Harden (1865–1940)
