  • (born 1937), Russian chess player, world champion 1969–72; full name Boris Vasilevich Spassky. He was defeated by Bobby Fischer in 1972 and moved to Paris in 1975. In 1992 he had a rematch with Fischer, played in Montenegro and Serbia, which Fischer again won.
