Baron Coe of Ranmore (born 1956), British middle-distance runner and politician. He won an Olympic gold medal in the 1,500 meters in 1980 and in 1984. After his retirement from athletics, he served as a member of Parliament 1992–7 and chaired the committee that organized the 2012 London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. In 2015 he was elected president of the International Association of Athletics Federations.
