Apparently from Spanish * orteguina from the name of Domingo López Ortega, Spanish bullfighter, who practised this manoeuvre + -u- (graphic device used to indicate plosive pronunciation of g with a following front vowel) + -ina -ine. The word was probably coined in Spanish, but has not been traced.
