Lon (1883–1930); full name Alonso Chaney. A silent film star known as the Man of a Thousand Faces, he played a wide variety of deformed villains and macabre characters in more than 150 movies, including "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" (1923) and "The Phantom of the Opera" (1925). His son Lon Chaney, Jr. (1906–1973) played the lead in a number of horror movies, such as "The Wolf Man" (1941) and "Son of Dracula" (1943).
